Comments on History of U.S. Presidents The following seek to provide insight to certain styles of present and former presidents of the United States since the end of World War II. This is a brief synopsis by a former Naval Aviator who joined the Navy a year prior to the Japanese attack upon Pearl Harbor and presents his views on what he observed. President Barack Obama After the eight years of President George Bush, Obama presents a far more honest presidency, with a sincerity that is long overdue. However, some of his political views are repugnant to many people, and harmful to the nation and certain normally protected interests. For instance: The "bail out" of the banks and financial institutions, such as AIG, at a huge cost to the taxpayers. What is actually being done by the bank bailout is that much of the taxpayers' borrowed money that goes, for instance, to AIG, is used to pay the insurance contracts AIG gave to speculators. Some of these contracts were with people who had no money invested in the corporations for which they sought insurance, but were making gambling bets on whether the company's financial status deteriorated. Taxpayers are therefore bailing out financial speculators who knew the risks, who knew AIG and similar financial institutions could not pay on the contracts if there were many defaults. Obama's financial team consisted of people who either directly or indirectly brought about the nation's greatest financial frauds in the history of the United States. (See America's Housing and Financial Frauds, available in print and e-book formats at amazon.com and other sources.) Giving the financial shaft to the stockholders of General Motors, as Obama puts their legal priority status secondary to the powerful labor unions that helped bring about his presidency. The powerful UAW employees union−that provided great support for Obama's election−have no financial right to ownership of a corporation, and especially over those stockholders who paid for their stock. The stockholders, whose legal rights were trampled, consisted of retired people whose primary income was from the bonds that they had purchased. The preference given to the very same UAW unions that helped bring about the bankruptcy of major auto industries, insuring that the American taxpayers continuing to pay exorbitant employee benefits that they themselves don't have. That action, using government power to take from investors their legal money and giving their rights to powerful unions that helped bring about is election, is the standard practice of political corruption. Obama's decision is giving bondholders 33 cents on the dollar, under law, the priority debtors, and giving to union members 55 cents on unsecured debt. Making the comparison even worse, much of the unsecured debt was the ruinous pay, health and retirement benefits that the company was blackmailed into, and which helped bring about the bankruptcy of Chrysler. To pay back a debt to the unions that helped fund his election victory, Obama put them ahead of the secured bondholders, violating the rule of law. The unions were the primary reason General Motors failed financially. Years of blackmailing the company and receiving such unprecedented rights as: Being paid for doing nothing when business was slack. Work conditions that paid for eight hours for five hours of work, with overtime for the remaining three hours. Retirement and pay, at a and age, often 50 years, when other Americans had to work into the sixties. Full payment of health benefits for the employees, their families, and during retirement or pay-for-nothing. Working conditions benefiting the union members that would put other companies out of business. Issuing other orders that give preference to the labor unions that helped to bring about his presidency. That is not proper conduct for a president. As feared before he was elected, Obama would is overtly and covertly pushing for preferential treatment for certain groups, including reverse discrimination. Not only is that unconstitutional, but breeds hatred between the races and different groups. After eight years of the most corrupt president in memory, President George Bush, Obama is a vast improvement over his predecessor, and his opponents in the presidential elections. However, it is another example of how this type of conduct is the culture among politicians. Obama's reluctance to investigate and prosecute the crimes of those in the prior Bush administration. That conduct aids and abets the prior crimes that have inflicted more harm upon the United States that the combined criminal acts of people in prison! Obama's rewarding of union funding (bribes!) that harms businesses and the United States. Obama's lack of experience and thus inability to take firm action when such actions were necessary. (Israel; investigation the corruption of the prior Bush administration; continuing and expanding U.S. role in three wars. President George Bush The president who had inflicted the greatest harm upon the American people and the nation since its origin, President George Bush's conduct will continue to inflict staggering harm upon the American people for decades to come. Included in what is obviously misconduct were the following: Deregulation and financial catastrophe. As with another Republican president, Ronald Reagan, Bush and his Republican congress−with help from other bribe-taking Democrats−removed several major regulatory controls that were put in place to halt financial recklessness and frauds of the past. As a result, the United States is in the greatest financial crisis since the great 1930s financial depression, and one that will probably continue to get worse for the American public. His reign started the bailout of the financial speculators by giving huge amounts of borrowed taxpayers money to financially pay the speculators who had gambling contracts with such financial houses as AIG. Continuation of the vast corruption that enabled 9/11 to occur. During the Bush presidency, the same corruption that existed under the Clinton administration, including that of personnel in control of the U.S. Department of Justice that played major roles in making it easy for 19 terrorists to hijack four airliners and kill nearly 3,000 people. Carpet bombing of innocent Afghans that greatly increased the number of people wanting to kill Americans. President Bush and his shills ordered the carpet bombing of Afghanistan with high-flying U.S. bombers, killing thousands of innocent Afghans, on the basis that the Afghan Taliban government did not order al Qaeda members residing in remote mountainous areas to leave the country after the terrorist hijackings of September 11, 2001. Paradoxically, the Afghans had virtually nothing to do with the terrorist hijackings, while people and groups in the United States had by their documented corruption done more to insure the success of the 9/11 hijackings than virtually anyone else in the world. One of many sites giving details on this is 9/11 index. Serial lying to seek support for a major war against Iraq. President George Bush and his shills engaged in years of serial lying about facts that were known to be false−except by the majority of unread Americans−to obtain the support of the people and politicians in Congress. Included in the lies−which some of his Republican shills continued to claim years after the invasion of Iraq, are the following: Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Iraq had stockpiles of chemical weapons. Iraq had facilities to build a nuclear bomb. Iraq was obtaining crude earth material from Niger to build a nuclear bomb (that would require years and a nuclear building complex that would cover a large area of Iraq, unable to be secreted. Iraq had military aircraft that could deliver the weapons of mass destruction to the United States. Iraq purchased aluminum tubes for building nuclear weapons. For the American people, the supporting politicians, and the political pundits, to support these claims, they would have to have a high level of illiteracy to overlook the following facts: That overwhelming evidence existed to show the blatant lying being done to a dumbed-down American public. Ignore the fact that no country, with only a few weapons, would dare to attack the United States with its thousands of nuclear weapons that would totally wipe off the earth any country that dared to attack the United States. That invading another country to remove its dictator head, and install the form of government existing in the United States, killing thousands of innocent people−including infants−would be arrogance of the most extreme. Ignoring the evidence of corruption in the United States that had more to do with the desire to kill Americans and the ability to so easily do it. This information has been available to the American people for decades, including the over one dozen books related to this site, the thousands of radio and TV appearances by insiders revealing this corruption. Despite it all, the American public remained in blissful ignorance−and then paid the price for what they enabled to occur by their failures to show responsibility. Supported the warlike behavior that destabilized the entire Middle East, and disrupted a country that has one of the most westernized civil liberties (Brutality did exist to keep the peace, but possibly this was necessary to keep neighbor form killing each other, including decapitation, which occurred after U.S. politicians removed Saddam Hussein, who had maintained peace between the formerly warring factions in the country. Blissfully allowing themselves to be lied to, to be insulted by the lies. Be willing to kill thousands of people in other countries to arrogantly force upon them the form of government in the United States. Making this even more ridiculous is that the force of government in the United States had been perverted due to the endemic corruption, endemic cover-ups, and endemic illiteracy upon the American public. Be more "loyal" to a particular political party−despite its massive corruption by its key leaders−then to the interests of the nation, its people, and to justice. Be so incredibly naive as to believe the lies and half truths by certain political pundits, such as Russ Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and others−some of those pundits that call their site a "no-spin" zone. Vote a second time for President Bush even after all of these lies and arrogant actions were finally recognized. Ordered the torture of mostly low-level and out-of-the-loop detainees that violated U.S. and international law−while ignoring: Information presented by insiders that high-level FBI-DOJ personnel had advance notice of several major terrorist attacks and kept the information secret so as to protect the criminal acts of certain key FBI-DOJ personnel. See Crimes of the FBI-DOJ, and the Mafia. Also this page. Information about the documented corruption in the government's aviation safety offices, the documented corruption of people in the U.S. Department of Justice; of people in the CIA, and finally the enablers in other key government positions. Continuing indifference, even by many of the next of kin, for the corrupt actions of people whose documented misconduct resulted in the deaths of over 4,000 American military personnel and the maiming and wounding of tens of thousands more. See Unfriendly Skies: 20th & 21st Centuries and Crimes of the FBI-DOJ, and Mafia, and others. As with other politicians, continuing to pander to powerful Israeli political lobbies in such a way that the Middle East has become heavily destabilized and generated people wanting to kill Americans. His presidency had subverted the interests of moderate people who oppose such matters as (a) preference to gays, many of whom have an obnoxious lifestyle; (b) changing two centuries of the meaning of a marriage to where two men kissing each other are considered the norm, and who engage in abuses to force their unorthodox views upon the public; President William Clinton The following matters are heavily detailed in the books, Defrauding America and Drugging America: Massive drug smuggling into and out of Arkansas, involving CIA personnel and to a lesser extent, Governor Bill Clinton. He and his government personnel knew of the drug activities that were crimes against the United States, and covered up for the crimes (as did virtually everyone else!). The deaths of many people who sought to expose his misconduct as governor, including the suspicious death of White House lawyer Vincent Foster. Using Arkansas state troopers to cover up for his extramarital sexual activities and other misconduct. The reckless personal misconduct with White House interne, Monica Levinsky, while president of the United States. Clinton knew that he was setting himself and the presidency of the United States for probable blackmail. That conduct would be in line with his reported conduct in Arkansas. Clinton's frequent use of hard drugs−while other citizens were sentenced to long prison sentences for the same crimes. As with other politicians, continuing to pander to powerful Israeli political lobbies in such a way that the Middle East has become heavily destabilized and generated people wanting to kill Americans. This writer lived in the Middle East periodically during the 1950s when the U.S. policies started the conditions that resulted in decades of violence. The continuation of the corruption in the U.S. Department of Justice under the Clinton presidency. During the Clinton presidency, personnel in the U.S. Department of Justice received information from a high al Qaeda source−via a mole in that group−about several major terrorist attacks on major U.S. targets that would eventually killed nearly 4,000 people. High-level personnel in Clinton's Department of Justice withheld this information from the other government sources that could have taken steps to prevent the terrorist attacks. And also withheld the information from FBI agents. Details in the book, Crimes of the FBI-DOJ, and the Mafia, and at various files at this site. As with the other presidential misconduct, most unread Americans, ignorant of these material events, supported Clinton because he had a likeable personality. President George H.W. Bush Irregularities existed during the the Reagan presidency while Bush was vice president, and continued after Bush became president. These included the secret funding and arming of rebels seeking to overthrow the Nicaraguan government; involvement in smuggling of drugs into the United States; a key role in the October Surprise scheme; and other covert activities. Some of which were crimes against the United States−as were some of the acts by other presidents. And irregularities as detailed in the books, Drugging America and Defrauding America. President Ronald Reagan President Ronald Reagan was fondly remembered for his style, but not for his actual conduct−thanks to the unread and illiterate about material national matters by most of the American public. Here are some of the "blemishes" during the Reagan-Bush presidencies of the 1980s: October Surprise. Helping to insure the election of presidential candidate Ronald Reagan was the October Surprise scheme that included President Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, William Casey, Bob Gates and others. That was the operation−conspiracy−during which they engaged in secret negotiations with Iranians to delay the release of the 52 American hostages that were captured during the 1979 Iranian revolution that removed the CIA-installed the Shah of Iran (Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi) for the duly elected prime minister of Iran−Mohammad Mossadegh. It is believed that the United States supported the radical clerics that opposed the secular views that Mossadegh was promoting. This writer was in Iran the morning of the 1953 revolution. Part of that scheme to delay the release of the American hostages until after the presidential elections included giving several million dollars to certain Iranians and U.S. arms that were stolen from National Guard Armories in the United States. These arms were secretly sent to Iran via Israel. Details, as told to the author by CIA assets involved in that operation, are in the book, Defrauding America. That book is available in print and e-book formats at amazon.com and other sources. Deregulation and the savings and loan frauds. President Ronald Reagan, a friend of powerful financial interests and source of huge financial donations/bribes, quickly moved to remove regulations that had been in place for years to prevent financial frauds. As anyone with average street sense in the real estate field knew, the removal of those legal protections preventing savings and loans from using deposits as the financial institution's piggy banks for real estate speculation, resulted in hundreds of billions of dollars of losses to the U.S. taxpayers through massive fraud. Helping to block corrective actions when the ongoing frauds were being reported in the media were members of Congress known as the Keating Five. That included Senator John McCain−a fact obviously unknown to most unread Americans during the presidential campaign when McCain was running for president against Barack Obama. Another Republican president (George Bush) and bribe-taking members of Congress would later duplicate Reagan's actions, bringing about the worst financial debacle in the nation's history that will inflict devastating personal and financial harm to millions of Americans. Subverting the Nicaraguan government. In violation of law−as with almost every wrongdoing cited at this page−President Reagan secretly sent arms to rebels seeking to overthrow the Nicaraguan government, which resulted in heavy loss of life and was associated with activities that were crimes against the United States. Smuggling huge quantities of drugs into the United States. Compounding the subversion of another country, CIA assets−with full knowledge of people in the Reagan administration, smuggled huge quantities of drugs into the United States in aircraft that had delivered military weapons to the rebels−and to the Nicaraguan government! On the return trip to the United States, these drugs were unloaded at military airfields, at DEA facilities, and such infamous spots as Mena, Arkansas, while William Clinton was governor of the state. These were crimes against the United States, perpetrated by people in positions of trust. Many more details, as learned from the participants, are found in the books, Defrauding America and Drugging America. Ordering the invasion of the tiny and relatively defenseless island of Grenada. President Reagan ordered the huge U.S. military to invade the tiny island of Grenada after the Grenadian government contracted to have their existing runway lengthened. The purpose of lengthening the runway was to enable large jets carrying tourists to make the island a vacation. Because the contract for increasing the length of the runway was given to a communist country, Reagan used that as a pretense to invade and kill Grenadians. Paying ransom to Iranians to obtain hostages held in Lebanon. While repeatedly lying to the American people that he was not authorizing it, Reagan continued authorizing paying ransom money to Iranians to secure the release of Americans held hostage in Lebanon. Among the people involved was CIA agent Robert Gates, playing a prominent role in the George Bush and Barack Obama presidencies. Details in the book, Defrauding America. Secret funding and arming of Iraq during the 1980s. Presidents Ronald Reagan and then President George H.W. Bush secretly funded and armed Iraq during the 1980s, which included weapon that the second Bush administration called weapons of mass destruction. That funding and arming continued until about one month before Iraq−encouraged by U.S. Ambassador April Glaspie, invaded Kuwait. The U.S.-supplied weapons and funding made Iraq's attack upon Kuwait possible. Placating the powerful Israeli political lobbies in such a way that the Middle East has become heavily destabilized and generated people wanting to kill Americans. That practice had been continued by every subsequent U.S. president and members of Congress−to avoid being targeted for removal. President Jimmy Carter No significant irregularities noted under President Jimmy Carter's administration. He appeared to be sincere, but naive. He gave away the Panama Canal. During his presidency, Iranians seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and held captives 52 Americans. During the presidential elections between him and Ronald Reagan, the October Surprise operation acted to reduce Carter's chances of being reelected. The American public never knew how the election was fraudulently manipulated. President Gerald Ford No significant irregularities noted under the short presidency of Gerald Ford. He was vice president under President Richard Nixon and assumed the presidency when Nixon resigned as a result of covering up for the two-bit political burglary by CIA assets. President Richard Nixon President Richard Nixon was removed from office as a result of the Watergate break-in of which he had no knowledge until after it occurred. Nixon was somewhat crude in his personal conduct, but efficient as a U.S. president. His presidency was brought to an end as a result of heavy media pressure as he attempted to cover up for a two-bit political burglary committed without his knowledge. While the cover-up of the relatively minor political break-in cannot be condoned, that was chicken-feed compared to the wrongdoings of his predecessors and also certain presidents that followed him. It is ironic that Bob Woodward, a reporter with the Washington Post, that aggressively sought to have Nixon impeached for his after-the-fact cover-up of the political Watergate break-in, but repeatedly covered up for other major crimes by high-level politicians that were continuing to inflict great and even catastrophic harm upon the American people and upon the United States. That cover-up practice by media people and media corporations in the United States was standard practice, partly influenced by the secret payments received from CIA and other government departments. President Lyndon B. Johnson His election to the U.S. Senate was marked with misconduct. His conduct in Texas was less than honorable. Ordered the invasion of Vietnam on lies that a Navy ship was attacked by a NorthVietnamese ship. That lie resulted in 38,000 dead American GIs and the wounding and permanent maiming of tens of thousands of other Americans, and the killing of over one million Vietnamese. Military involvement in Vietnam had already been started by President Kennedy. Continued the war mongering that Communist countries were the biggest threat to the United States−charges repeatedly made by U.S. politicians while: Authorizing the subversion of foreign governments. Invading foreign countries. Authorized the murders of foreign leaders. President John F. Kennedy Authorized the invasion of Cuba that was a plan originally authorized by President Dwight Eisenhower. The invasion of a vastly militarily inferior country was unsuccessful with the failed Bay of Pigs invasion. That CIA operation was known as Operation Mongoose. Authorized several plans to kill Cuba's leader, Fidel Castro. Demeaned the presidency and the White House with his illicit sexual affairs. Authorized an early start of military involvement in Vietnam despite the horrendous casualties from U.S. invasion of Korea. President Dwight Eisenhower President Dwight Eisenhower brought about numerous favorable developments during his presidency. Facing defeat and the continued loss of tens of thousands of American military personnel, Eisenhower brought about a peace/surrender that left the country divided into North Korea and South Korea. That division fuels the threat to peace posed by North Korea. The less favorable events included: In 1960, Eisenhower ordered the CIA to prepare plans to invade Cuba and overthrow Fidel Castro. President Harry Truman President Harry Truman could be considered a fairly honest president. Although it was considered a very poor decision, he authorized the U.S. invasion of Korea that resulted in over 38,000 dead American military personnel and the wounding and maiming of tens of thousands of others, plus the estimated over one million Koreans killed by U.S. military personnel.
