Enablers of Two World Record New York City
Aviation Disasters, 40 years Apart

New York City experienced, deep inside the city, on two separate occasions, world-record horrific aviation disasters, 40 years apart. Preceding each of those catastrophic events was documented corruption, retaliation against whistleblowers, and kept from the people. The first of these world-record aviation disasters was an airliner crashing into the Brooklyn section of New York City. The second world-record event were the two airliners that were flown into the World Trade Center. Both groups were preceded by corruption that enabled the events to occur. Secrecy of these matters followed each of the two episodes.

Corruption Related to the First World Record Aviation Disaster

The corruption that led to the first of the two world-record aviation disasters occurring inside the city of New York was well known insider the federal government's aviation  safety agency, the FAA, known to insiders as "the tombstone agency." The disaster itself was caused by gross pilot error. Responsible for that dangerous piloting was the airline's refusal to provide the legally required and industry-accepted training and competency checks, followed by the criminal acts of falsifying government-required records, along with other problems. Despite the deadly consequences, the same conduct and consequences at that airline continued, aided and abetted by the local and regional FAA management. The deadly crashes continued.

FAA Airline Safety Inspector Given Official
Life-and-Death Assignment

A safety-orientated FAA group in Los Angeles gave highly-experienced FAA airline safety inspector  Rodney Stich, the unprecedented official life-and-death-assignment to transfer to that airline's training center and halt the corruption that was widely known to exist and the cause of the series of ongoing aviation disasters. That assignment was to halt the corrupt aviation safety matters in the FAA and at the airline that would be involved in both of those New York City events.

That initial life-and-death assignment became a reality after Stich discovered and documented the corruption, and then came under massive attacks by FAA personnel responsible for the corruption. He came under attack by other FAA divisions controlled by the FAA Administrator. Two additional major aviation disasters occurred at that same airline while Stich was under attack and prevented from carrying out his initial life-and-death assignment. Stich came under intense attack that blocked him from carrying out his official assignment. The attacks were directed from high FAA management positions that had a political agenda rather than a safety agenda.

While under attack, two others followed, enabled by the very same corruption that Stich discovered and reported.  One of those was the closest textbook example of the relationship between massive corruption and a deadly airline disaster that could have been staged.

Continuing Fraud-Related Deaths Required
Using Out-of-the-Box Efforts

Outraged by the arrogance resulting in such horrible consequences, and defying other air safety inspectors that warned of the consequences he would suffer if he continued to expose the corruption and the inability to fight the system, Stich started what would become a life-long attempt. He used the law in a manner never before used, and acted similar to an independent prosecutor. Those court-like proceedings required approximately 4,000 pages of reporter's transcripts. He filed a closing brief that including a warning of the consequences of cover-up. The expected cover-up followed, as well as a continuation of fraud-enabled aviation disasters.

As the crashes continued, and while Stich was still in the FAA, the head of the FAA Sky Marshal program urged Stich to file a report with the FAA administrator concerning the corruption and related crashes. Stich complied, sending a cover letter and the report in pdf format.

The cover-ups continued. Refusing to work under such criminal conditions, he resigned. As the crashes continued, Stich; filed a lawsuit against FAA under the federal crime reporting statute, Title 18 U.S.C. § 4. Federal judges admitted the seriousness of the charges, but stated the charges should be made to members of Congress.

Documented Continuing Tragedy-Enabling Corruption

Captain Rodney Stich was joined over the years by several dozen former professionals in covert and law enforcement operations, and other insiders. They added to the corruption in key government positions that were added to what Stich  initially discovered. Blocked at every turn from reporting and halting  the corruption, Stich sought to report and force action to halt the tragedy-enabling corruption by filing federal lawsuits under the federal crime reporting statute, Title 18 U.S.C. § 4. At that time:

The above information was obtained by Captain Rodney Stich from what he discovered, and from the people directly involved. The conduct of the people in control of the U.S. Department of Justice had converted the nation's highest law enforcement agency into a RICO racketeering operation.

Those criminal acts by Department of Justice personnel resulted in greater harm  to the American people and the nation than any  harm ever perpetrated by any criminal in any state or federal prison.

Much of this information was provided to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Byron White, in an Emergency Petition by Captain Rodney Stich. So serious were the charges that Justice White sent a personal response to Stich, and even more unprecedented and significant, apology for, as a single Justice, not being able to help.

  • 1968 lawsuit reporting federal corruption in the FAA, listing some of the aviation disasters in which misconduct by politically-motivated high-level FAA personnel played a major role. During oral hearings in the federal court of appeals at San Francisco, one of the three-judge panel members stated:

    "Mr. Stich, these are serious charges, but they are for Congress to investigate."

    Stich responded: "Congress refuses to investigate. But I am not asking you to investigate. I'm here to report the federal crimes to a federal judge as specifically required by Title 18 U.S.C. § 4. In that way I make a record, and when a federal judge performs his or her duty and receives it, that judicial record would require Department of Justice personnel to investigate."

    Prior to that, in the district court, U.S. District Judge Robert Schnacke stated that the issues were serious. But the U.S. Attorney stated, in his motion to dismiss, that Stich had no standing to bring the action. (The action reporting deadly crimes against the United States that were ongoing!).

Greatest Easily-Prevented Aviation Calamity

Preceding to the next never-to-be-forgotten day in New York City, on September 11, 2001, the easily prevented and forewarned hijackings of four U.S. airliners by a small group of al Qaeda operatives outraged by the Israeli brutal attacks upon the invaded Palestinians, made possible by U.S. politicians pandering to  Israel AIPAC lobby. (Captain Stich lived in the Middle East, flying  Muslim pilgrims to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. At that time, the people of the Middle East liked Americans, and the area was relatively peaceful.)

Their occurrence showed a combination of American-style corruption and stupidity at allowing an easily corrected hijacking tactic.

The corrupt culture


United Airlines crew and passengers were involved in both sets of aviation disasters. The question as to the small group of personnel at United Airlines in the 1960s, whose conduct resulted in the denial of competency training, may have had butterfly ripple effects on 9/11.

Post 9/11 Corruption and Cover-Ups Continued

Captain Stich sought to report these and other matters to federal judges after 9/11, and was blocked by further complicity of federal judges and Supreme Court Justices.

Although the non-response indicate deliberate cover-ups, a crime, at the very least, such detailed charges, associated with specific tragedies, by a person with unusual background and credibility, would be unthinkable.

Murder Relationship between DOJ Personnel and Mafia Capo
 Known as "The Killing Machine"

This first example of how corrupt acts by powerful bureaucrats—protected by powerful personnel in other branches of governmentinsured the success of the first series of catastrophic al Qaeda attacks. These corrupt acts by high-level employees in the U.S. Department of Justice initially killed nearly 4,000 people, and was then followed by thousands of other deaths and consequences as serial lying by politicians led to two wars and tens of thousands of more deaths. All made possible by the corrupt acts stated here. Covering up for this scandal of scandals is now occupying the efforts of members of Congress and other groups—compounding the original crimes. For several decades, FBI agents in the New York City offices paid tens of thousands of dollars to a New York City Mafia capo, Gregory Scarpa, Sr., to be an informant. During that time, Scarpa provided information to FBI-DOJ personnel about the crimes of Mafia groups that were his competition. After their arrest and conviction, Scarpa took over their criminal operations. During this time, Scarpa was reportedly involved in over a dozen murders, some committed at the suggestion of his FBI handler. Scarpa was known as "the killing machine," paid and protected by the U.S. Department of Justice. In addition to paying Scarpa while he was knowingly involved in murders, FBI-DOJ employees provided Scarpa immunity for his crimes, including the murders that he was knowingly committing. Involved in this relationship were FBI personnel, the U.S. Attorney in New York City, Department of Justice personnel in Washington, and also FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. (This was similar to the murderous FBI-DOJ involvement with the James "Whitey" Bulger mob in the Boston offices of the FBI and U.S. Attorney.)  This is the same group and culture responsible for protecting the United States against terrorism.

Incredibly, murders of American citizens involving large numbers of personnel in the highest law enforcement department  of the U.S. government gets no outrage by the trivia-obsessed American public!

Similar FBI-DOJ Murderous Complicity
In the Boston FBI-DOJ Offices

This murderous practice and culture also occurred for several decades in the Boston offices, involving James "Whitey" Bulger and his FBI handlers, with approval by top employees in the Washington offices of the U.S. Department of Justice. The number of murders were greater in the Boston offices, reportedly close to two dozen, including the brutal murders of two young ladies. Directly involved were FBI agents and the Boston Bulger gang, headed by James "Whitey" Bulger. This group, and their long-existing culture, also held responsibility  for protecting the nation against terrorism.

Incredibly, the American public was indifferent upon receiving information of the top law enforcement department in the federal government being involved in decades of murders.

Mole in al Qaeda Cell Provided Advance
Information on Catastrophic al Qaeda Attacks

Awaiting trial for racketeering offenses at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in New York City was Gregory Scarpa, Jr., the son of the murderous Mafia capo, Gregory Scarpa, Sr. Also waiting to go to trial were major al Qaeda operatives Ramzi Yousef and Abdul Hakim Murad, each in their own cells. In a cell between them was Gregory Scarpa, Jr.

Yousef was awaiting trial for his role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing (another success made possible by FBI corruption) and the planned bombings of a dozen U.S. airliners departing Asian locations. Gregory Scarpa Jr., (Gregory), in the cell between Yousef and Murad, was transferring  notes and information between the two al Qaeda members. Gregory had convinced Yousef that his Colombo Mafia group also wanted to harm the United States, leading to Yousef providing him al Qaeda secrets. Gregory, a mole in al Qaeda's most deadly unit, started receiving major al Qaeda secrets directly from Yousef—including advance information on planned al Qaeda attacks against major U.S. targets.


Gregory, and his New York City attorney provided this ultra-important information to FBI agents in the New York City area, as it was being received from Yousef. Local FBI agents considered the information of extreme importance, and even set up a fictitious “Mafia” corporation in New York City. That fictitious Mafia corporation was staffed by FBI agents, through  which Yousef was encouraged to make local phone calls. These calls were then patched through to al Qaeda members in the United States and in other countries. This scheme continued for 11 months, during which FBI agents at the fictitious Mafia corporation recorded Yousef’s phone calls.

The information obtained from Yousef included the planned downing of a U.S. airliner departing the local New York JFK airport; the planned bombings of U.S. embassies in Africa; and the planned hijackings of U.S. airliners and flying them into buildings. Never before had the United States had such reliable information on planned terrorist attacks.

Deep-Sixing Advance Notice of al Qaeda Attacks

To prevent the success of those planned al Qaeda attacks, Department of Justice employees had to immediately forward this ultra-critical information to other government departments in order to take actions to prevent the success of the attacks. That was not done! Instead, top Department of Justice employees in Washington deep-sixth the information on the planned attacks. That was done deliberately, to protect themselves.


High-level Department of Justice employees in Washington had in place a scheme to discredit Gregory. The purpose of the scheme was to prevent the public from learning about the murderous relationship between Gregory Scarpa, Sr., and FBI agents in the New York City offices and Washington personnel in the U.S. Department of Justice.


Gregory was scheduled to give sworn testimony in several murder trials about the murders that his Mafia father had committed—with the assistance of, and at the suggestion of, a key FBI supervisor: Lindley DeVecchio. That testimony would not only subject DeVecchio to murder charges, but also reflect very poorly upon  top FBI and Department of Justice personnel, who had known about and approved of the murders and other crimes being committed while being paid as a top level informant. The scheme was to provide sham evidence at the murder trials to discredit Gregory, and thereby help to protect the corrupt acts of FBI and Department of Justice employees.

Insured the Success of the Expected al Qaeda Attacks—
And the Thousands of Initial Deaths

If the information about the planned attacks was made known to government departments, actions could have been  taken to prevent the success of the attacks. The source of the critical information, Gregory Scarpa, Jr., would become known, his credibility would be established, and undermine  the scheme to discredit his sworn testimony about the murders his father committed with the help of, or at the suggestion  of, FBI agents in the New York City offices. For risking his life and that of his family, Gregory's credibility would be established. High-level Department of Justice officials in Washington made the decision to deep-six the critical information on the planned attacks—surely knowing that people would die!

Years earlier, in the 1960s, as airline crashes were a steady occurrence, sometimes occurring every few months, United Airlines experienced more catastrophic crashes and near-crashes than any other airline. Mid-level FAA management in the Los Angeles office asked FAA airline safety inspector Rodney Stich to accept an assignment to transfer to United Airlines Denver training base at Denver and halt the massive aviation safety problem at that airline—and within the local Denver FAA offices. That assignment had life-and-death consequences. If he failed, or was blocked from carrying out that assignment, the corrupt and unsafe practices would continue, along with the needless crashes and deaths, as before.
