Those Brave Intelligent People Among Us! (As seen through the eyes of a World War II Navy veteran) It is beneficial for the United States to occasionally look in the mirror at itself. Consider the following "brave" people that are shown as examples: Members of Congress and other government personnel fleeing the buildings when loud noises were heard (May 26, 2006). (The reason: Workers' tools sounded like gunfire.) Members of Congress and other government personnel fleeing the buildings as a small single-engine plane strayed into the no-fly zone many miles from Washington. (2005) Repeated wholesale evacuation of multiple airline terminals, and ordering departing airlines to return. Among the reasons: A single airport passenger screening device found unplugged. After a passenger had passed through screening, the screener thought that something looked suspicious in the carry-on baggage. The plug to the electrical wall outlet for the security machine was found unplugged. Many other similar scenarios. Those Brave Military in Vietnam Repeated slaughter of women, children and infants during the Vietnam War by the invading American--America's "heroes!" During Vietnam invasion, the murders of thousands of civilians in the Phoenix Program. Mass murders of groups of unarmed cowering women, children and infants. Bravery in Afghanistan Massive carpet bombing of Afghan civilians by U.S. military aircraft flying at 35,000 feet, killing mostly innocent peasants. Slaughter During Invasion of Iraq A rarely-publicized example of the slaughter of Iraqi women, children and infants was revealed by media people in June 2006. Revealed by the articles and investigations were the murders of 24 men, women and children in Haditha (Nov. 19, 2005), being shot as they pleaded for their lives. Included in those murdered were mothers trying to shield their children, who were then both murdered. The victims of the "brave" Marines (called "heroes in the U.S.) included a one-year-old child. One of the murdered victims was a 76-year-old, his leg amputated from diabetes, was in a wheelchair. One victim had his intestines dangling from his body. The slaughtered was initially subjected to a cover-up (another prominent U.S. inbred culture). Apologists, such as Rep. John Murtha, excused the murders as "over-reaction." A Washington Post article (May 27, 2006) stated of the murders by U.S. military personnel: Witnesses to the slaying of 24 Iraqi civilians by U.S. Marines in the western town of Haditha say the Americans shot men, women and children at close range. ... A Haditha resident watched and listened from his home as Marines went from house to house killing members of three families. He heard his neighbor, Younis Salim Khafif, plead in English for the lives of himself and his family. "I heard Younis speaking to the Americans, saying: I am a friend. I am good. But they killed him and his wife and daughters." The 24 Iraqi civilians slain included children and women who were trying to shield them, witnesses told a Washington Post correspondent in Haditha. The girls killed inside Khafif's house were ages 14, 10, 5, 3 and 1, according to death certificates. [In the home of Abdul Hamid Hassan Ali, 76] ... he had used a wheelchair since diabetes forced a leg amputation years ago. ... In the house with Ali and his 66-year-old wife, Khamisa Tuma Ali, were ... 4-year-old Abdullah, 8-year-old Iman, 5-year-old Abdul Rahman and 2-month-old Asia. Marines entered shooting. Most of the shots--in Ali's house and two others--were fired at such close range that they went through the bodies of the family members and plowed into walls or the floor, doctors at Haditha's hospital said. Al took nine rounds in the chest and abdomen, leaving his intestines spilling out of the exit wounds in his back, according to his death certificate. The Marines moved to the house next door. Inside were ... an 8-year-old son, five young daughters and a 1--year-old girl staying with the family, according to death certificates and neighbors. The Marines shot them at close range and hurled grenades into the kitchen and bathroom. Khafif's pleas could be heard across the neighborhood. Four of the girls died screaming. Only 13-year-old Safa Younis lived--saved, she said, by her mother's blood spilling onto her, making her look dead when she fell, limp, in a faint. Townspeople led a Post reporter this week to the girl they identified as Safa. Wearing a ponytail and track suit, she said her mother had died trying to gather the girls. Safa burst into tears after a few words. The remains of the 24 lie today in a single cemetery, called Martyr's Graveyard. Stray dogs scrounge in the deserted homes. "Democracy assassinated the family that was here," graffiti on one of the houses declares. John Sifton of Human Rights Watch, which helped break the news that spurred the military investigation, said he had been told by Marine officers that the rampage lasted three to five hours and involved two squads of Marines. [Other U.S. Traits: Pathological Cover-Ups and Lying] Although Marines' accounts offered in the early stages of the investigation described a running gun battle, those versions of the story proved to be false, officials briefed by the Marines said. Some Iraqis reported that the Marines burned houses in the vicinity of the attack, but two people familiar with the case, including Hackett, the lawyer, said warplanes conducted air strikes, dropping 500-pound bombs on more than one house. This is significant ... it would indicate that senior commanders, who must approve such strikes and who would also used aircraft to assess their effects, were paying attention to events in Haditha that day. Widespread Torture Sites Repeated torture of detainees by U.S. military personnel during the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Renditions Widespread practice of taking people from various countries and then flying them to countries that routinely deal in torture. Many of these people had no military or terrorist connection and were merely in the wrong place at the wrong time--even though they had a right to be there. Sampling of Other Similar Traits Missile strikes on civilian targets from Naval ships far out to sea. U.S. invasions of countries without equal military capability, mostly third-world countries. These include Panama, Grenada, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq. Never against such powerful targets as the Soviet Union or Russia. After bombing of U.S. military barracks in Beirut, U.S. ran for safety, pulling out the troops. The Intelligence Level of Certain Americans The intelligence level of certain Americans--a hell of a lot of them--fall into a similar pattern. For instance: Electing a president, a former alcoholic, who repeatedly bragged that he doesn't read; who claims to get message from his so-called "God;" who repeatedly lied and assumes the public was dumb enough to believe anything (and did!). Being fed the same pattern of lies, year after year, by its political leaders, and swallowing it like morons. Being repeatedly told that terrorists were planning to hijack U.S. airliners and doing nothing about the known simple and inexpensive measures that would have stopped the 9/11 hijackings, and 50 years of prior hijackings. Refusing to address their role and their conduct in generating worldwide hatred for Americans and the unprecedented generating of terrorists against Americans. Being repeatedly told by knowledgeable insiders, for decades, that people in and associated with the CIA were smuggling drugs into the United States, and doing nothing about it. Ignoring the culture within the FBI revealed by FBI agents in the Boston and New York City offices being involved for years in murders with organized crime figures and the Mafia, and showing no reaction. Being repeatedly told by insiders about other forms of criminal activities involving people in key government positions--in the three branches of government--and doing nothing about it, limiting their reactions to such "important" matters as the ball games or their kids. Plus much more, the individual sheep followed the herd--blindlessly! Among the Accomplices in These Atrocities and National Tragedies The president of the United States who ordered the invasion of Iraq. The members of Congress who approved legislation giving the president the authority to initiate a war. The media people who approved of the invasion, the serial lying prior to and then after the invasion. The people who approved of the invasion, the people who voted for the president, and the members of Congress who approved the invasion. These are among the same people who lied, who covered up, who ignored, the corruption in government related to the harm being inflicted upon themselves by their "leaders." The Arrogance of Those Accomplices! As it relateed to the support for the invasion of Iraq: Tens of thousands of dead Iraqi civilians, entire cities laid to rubble, utilities destroyed, unprecedented hatred for Americans, unprecedented growth of people (terrorists) resulting from the invasion--justified because U.S. politicians--and their shills--believe the Iraq's leader, Saddam Hussein, should be replaced and the juvenile thinking that the volatile mixture of tribes, cultures, religious fanatics, could be converted to a democracy. Overlooking the fact that Iraq was one of the most advanced secular countries in the Middle East, with some of the most advanced human rights record for women. That crime was almost non-existent (as compared to the massive brutal killings occurring daily in the United States). It is true that Saddam Hussein was brutal to his enemies, but in a country where beheading had been a common practice prior to Saddam's reign--and after the U.S. removed him--possibly his occasional brutal acts were more suitable to that environment that the U.S. practice of providing free room and board and other prison benefits for brutal murderers. That a very small percentage of the population was in prison (far below the percentage of Americans held in prison). That Iraq had no so-called weapons of mass destruction, the magical word used by U.S. war-mongers and their shills. Certainly less than Israel, with its several hundred nuclear missiles. And if they did acquire any advanced weapons, in light of the thousands of nuclear weapons by the United States, Iraq would never attempt an attack upon the United States, a country that probably has a million times greater military capacity. That the Reagan-Bush administrations had secretly armed and funded Iraq's military buildup during the 1980s--while secretly arming Iran. Now that U.S. military people are dying after invading Iraq, the brave Americans are whining for them to leave--after laying the country to waste and after they assisted in putting the military personnel into harm's way! As it related to the invasion of Vietnam. Ok to kill hundreds of thousands of poor Vietnamese because U.S. politicians didn't want these people to select the communist form of government--the same form of government in China and elsewhere that today is funding the U.S. deficit. By the actions and inactions of U.S. people, 58,000 Americans were killed; many more wounded, some maimed for life (and forgotten); tens of thousands of Vietnamese murdered in the CIA's Phoenix Program. These examples can go on and on. Examples of this arrogance and worldwide terrorism are found in many books written by many insiders. This site has several books detailing and documenting the actions of those ugly Americans. These references do not apply to those good Americans, who have protested the arrogant misconduct that exists within the United States. They are the true Americans who should be honored. An enlightening book is Those Ugly Americans: 20th and 21st Centuries. Return to: www.defraudingamerica.com www.druggingamerica.com www.unfriendlyskies.com
