A dual result (and surely intent) was that the CIA source (a former Pakistan intelligence officer) was blocked from providing the author with information about terrorists and the blundering actions of FBI and CIA agents who ignored the information--with tragic consequences. Parallel to these obstructionist actions, DOJ prison officials at the federal maximum security prison at Florence, Colorado, blocked inmate Gregory Scarpa, Jr., in 2002, from providing to former federal agent, activist, and author, Rodney Stich, detailed information about the murderous actions of FBI agent Lindley DeVecchio. This information, partly revealed in 2002, was the information that Brooklyn district attorneys discovered several years later, and used in 2006 to charge that former FBI agent with multiple murders carried out with the Colombo Mafia family boss, Gregory Scarpa, Sr. In Stich's various books, other examples of FBI-DOJ obstruction of justice tactics are described, all of which undermine the internal security of the United States. This culture has been covered up by members of Congress and the 9/11 Commission. Instead of addressing the primary cultural problems, new agencies were formed--the standard practice for many decades.
