Systemic Arrogance and Corruption Also Responsible for the Rot in America And Decline of the American Dream The decline of life for many Americans, the decline of the United States itself, the rot in America, can best be shown from the evidence of systemic corruption and systemic cover-ups by the media, members of Congress, and virtually every other check and balance, and these being made possible by the actions, inactions, the culture of the American public. Almost everywhere a person looks there are the signs of a nation in sad shape and facing worsening deterioration: Infrastructure in decline or outright decay, as compared to many foreign countries. A high unemployment rate as jobs that made possible the American dream for many Americans have gone to other nations, never to return, due to policies adopted by U.S. politicians. A crime and incarceration rate among the highest in any developed country, often on falsified evidence and paid perjury, by prosecutors seeking to advance their careers. A large segment of the public engaging in brutal crimes, killing people at random, with many U.S. cities having a higher crime and murder rate than almost any other country; where murder of innocent people, even children, exceeds that by far of most any other developed country. A continuing steady decline in morals, with the public obsessed with sex, some of it considered deviated in many societies. A continuing series of financial crimes inflicting harm upon the people, made possible by bribe-taking members of Congress; and government regulators either too lazy or cowardly to perform their oversight duties or more interested in the revolving door benefits in leaving government for the industry they were responsible to regulate. (See the book, America's Housing and Financial Frauds.) The corruption by members of Congress and the universal practice of quid pro quo bribe taking members of Congress from lobbyists and industry groups or individuals. (See the book, Congress and Other Cesspools.) The history of corruption by employees of the U.S. Department of Justice. (See the book, Crimes of the FBI-DOJ, Mafia, and al Qaeda.) The huge financial deficits, present and future, of local, state and federal government, being ignored by borrowings that worsens the future for the people, and enables government officials to ignore responsibility for the woes that they enabled to occur. The continued decline in the intelligence and morality of America's youth, obsessed with trivia, drugs, and crime, while the young of most other nations, especially in the Far East, far surpass the intelligence level of U.S. youths. The culture of America's intrusion into the affairs of foreign nations, including continuing wars, undermining foreign governments, and other offenses. The cost of the debt and interest payments, into several trillion dollars, to pay for the past wars ordered by U.S. politicians on a basis of lies that an otherwise attention-paying public would have recognized as lies, and which were enabled by large segments of the public that supported the wars and the politicians responsible for starting them. Outrageous salaries and retirement benefits for government employees which were provided by politicians seeking political support from powerful government employees unions, and which the American public cannot afford to pay. Change of values and culture from the migration into the United States of people with different values that once existed n the United States shortly after the end of World War II. Continued failure of the American people to recognize how bad is the future with the problems now in the pipeline. The dismal level of intelligence by the American public that it obsessed with trivia, blissfully uninterested in the facts, and prone to believe wacky conspiracy theories while ignoring facts and documentation provided by insiders that suffer the consequences for speaking out. The level of corruption throughout the state and federal courts, among federal judges, and even the Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. The dismal recognition of the American public to the rot throughout the United States and the decades of great harm caused or enabled by this rot. Examples of this can be found in such places and in such areas as the following examples: An article in The Nation magazine (November 29, 2010) titled, "America's Knowledge Deficit," described how the American public has substituted for knowledge obtained from dreading, and reason, to opinion and prejudice, much of which arising from spinning of the truth by political pundits, and even the news media. The article stated in part: President Barack Obama complained that politics was tough because "facts and science and argument" do not seem to be winning the day all the time." He was echoing President Clinton and others who have complained that voters know more about football than political issues and, with their minds made up, can't be "bothered with the facts." In 2004 John Kerry voiced the same worry: "Facts, science, truth seem to be significantly absent from what we call our political dialogue." We already know too many Americans know rather too little. A recent Pew survey confirmed that the religious are often "profoundly ignorant about religion, above all, their own. At least in the survey, one's level of education was a predictor of knowledge. Not so in other domains. College students remap woefully ignorant about history and geography; year in and year out, many of my students cannot place the Civil War in the right century or Iraq on the right continent. But is it not what Americans don't know that is so pernicious to our democracy (they can always be educated); it is that they don't know what knowing actually is. Standing in the background of Obama's and Kerry's complaints, as well as of our radical political polarization and the multiplication of candidates (some of whom won on November 2) making preposterous claims about witchcraft, ... 9/11 conspiracy theories [!!!] The article went into a more sophisticated explanation of telling the difference between the truth and untruth. inability to separate facts from opinion or bias, which much of the American people should start to recognize. The article continued: We hear about the democratic deficit all the time, but it is the epistemological deficit that is putting democracy at risk. Epistemology signifiers the "science of knowing" and expressed a civilizational conviction that truth, objectivity, science, fact and reason are fundamentally different from opinion, subjectivity, prejudice, feeling and irrationality. The science of knowing insists on the fundamental distinction made by the Geeks between episteme (true knowledge) and doxa (opinion or prejudice, a root of our word "orthodoxy"). Knowledge as episteme denotes claims that can be backed up by facts, good reasons and sound arguments. This doesn't mean that there is perfect truth, but it does mean there are good and bad arguments—claims that can be verified by empirical facts or rooted in logically demonstrable arguments and those that cannot be. Because democracy relies on words rather than force, reason rather than compulsion and an agreement about the value if not the substance of objectivity, it works only when we agree on the distinction between knowledge and opinion, between claims that can be verified by facts and validated by sound reasoning and subjective personal beliefs that, however deeply felt, are incapable of being corroborated or falsified. * Epistemology, it is the theory of knowledge, the branch of philosophy concerned with the nature and scope (limitations) of knowledge. and addresses (a) what is knowledge? (b) how is knowledge acquired? and (c) how do we know what we know? Much of the debate in this field has focused on analyzing the nature of knowledge and how it relates to connected notions such as truth, belief, and justification. It also deals with the means of production of knowledge, as well as skepticism about different knowledge claims. Steps Needed to Be Taken to Survive The Worse Has Yet to Come Those in control of the system will continue to protect each other against the public intrusion. It is therefore up to experienced and responsible people with a history of intelligence comments and actions. With over 50 percent of the public stating in surveys in 2010 that Sarah Palin could be considered for the president of the United States, all consideration of taking intelligence actions against the existing and arising problems is almost impossible to even consider. Facing complex financial problems, threats of nuclear attacks, a proven record of lack of intelligence but reciting of short feel-nice comments won't do it. What is several decades overdue are: Large numbers of people capable of intelligent reading and understanding of books and articles by sophisticated people with the proper background is the starting point. After starting to understand segments of the multiple areas of problems, sufficient people must then spend as much time showing outrage as they had previously spent on such trivia as the ball games and other matters. Ombudsmen: What is needed to addressed the systematic corruption at every level of local, state, and federal government are a series of ombudsmen with the power to subpoena and prosecute, composed of independent personnel, and further overseen by master ombudsmen responsible for the proper performance of individual ombudsmen. Where Have the Good Men Gone? Two full pages in the Wall Street Journal (February 19-20, 2011), under the headline, "Where Have the Good Men Gone," was devoted to the lack of maturity of the American male. Sampling of the comments included the following: The guys we find, says one woman, are "more like the kids we babysat than the dads who drove us home." Not so long ago, the average American man in his 20s had achieved most of the milestones of adulthood: a high school diploma, financial independence, marriage and children. Today, most men in their 20s hang out in a novel sort of limbo, a hybrid state of semi-hormonal adolescence and responsible self-reliance. You might assume that their appearance is a result of spoiled 24-year-oldsz trying to prolong the campus drinking and hook-up scene while exploiting the largesse of mom and dad. Young men were tuning in to cable channels like Comedy Central, the Cartoon Network and Spike,, whose shows reflected the adolescent male preferences of its targeted male audiences. They watched movies with overgrown boy actors ... cheering their awesome car crashes, fart jokes, breast and crotch shots, beer pong competitions' and other frat-boy pranks. What explains this puerile shallowness? ... We can be disgusted is some of them continue to live in rooms decorated with "Star Wars" posters and crushed beer cans, ... but we shouldn't be surprised. ... Relatively affluent, free of family responsibilities, and entertained by an array of media devoted to his every pleasure, the single young man can live in pig heaven—and often does. The article didn't mention another obsession of the average American male: his obsession to professional sports and the players that milk their obsessed fans out of millions of dollars a year in salaries. The intent of these comments is to focus attention on these problems in the hope that some good people will help to change these problems. Great Harm Inflicted Worldwide Little is said or written about the lack of interest, the state of denial, the indifference, the self-interests−and the arrogance, of the American public. Despite the arrogance of government officials, despite the harm being inflicted upon it's own citizens, upon people of other countries, despite the corrupt activities of its leaders, the American public, as a group, does nothing to address the serious matters. The public siphons off the financial benefits that the American form of government provides, without exercising any moral or legal responsibilities to address the rampant corruption of people throughout government that openly engage in actions that are corrupt, criminal, arrogant, and a Trojan Horse subversion of the country. Thanks to the state of public's long history of denial, illiteracy about government corruption, and cowardice, they make possible, aid and abet, such matters as: Permit their own citizens to become victims through numerous forms of corruption by their "leaders." Approving and funding the invasion of foreign countries, brutally killing hundreds of thousands of people, sometimes entire families, "justifying" their actions on many gullible Americans on such absurd theories as (a) Americans cannot allow people of other countries to select the form of government that they want and which U.S. leaders disapprove; (b) Americans do not approve of the leaders of other countries; (c) Other countries must have a democracy (ignorant of the fact that a democracy does not work in some tribal and other societies, and further, that major unpublicized human tragedies exist under the democracy in the United States. The CIA has been given carte blanche to engage to engage in overseas activities that destabilized governments, responsible for millions of deaths as a result of direct CIA wars and CIA-funded and generated wars. The actions that resulted in these deaths, such as the cowardly slaughter at Mai Lai, were made possible by the funding provided by the American people and their indifference to the acts taken with their approval. Remember, the United States has a government of, by, and for the American people. Tolerating the drugging of America, commencing in the early 1950s, by people in the CIA, and during the Ian-Contra affair (as proven by many insiders who have revealed these criminal and subversive acts, and further proven by the many highly detailed and supported books on the subject). The escalation of the drug crisis was associated with the CIA-engineered war inflicted upon Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, the CIA-backed war upon the people and government of Nicaragua, the many other covert wars including the invasion of Panama, the constant destabilization of foreign countries, the bribing of foreign officials (and those in the United States), the arming of subversive, the teaching of torture and assassinations, and much more. Until the CIA commenced its role of drug trafficking into the United States, the drug problem in the United States was relatively minor. The looting of the savings and loans, the looting of HUD programs, the heavy involvement in financial fraud, made possible by White House politicians and then misused by corrupt individuals and by the CIA. Tolerating a cadre of "political" prisoners, consisting of government agents and private citizens who sought to expose the crimes by government personnel. By having no public support, corrupt Justice Department employees and federal judges routinely imprison hundreds of government agents and people who seek to report the corruption involving government personnel, and especially related to CIA criminal activities, such as CIA-DEA drug trafficking. Bringing about the destruction of former personal liberties and constitutional protections, some of which under the guise of the so-called war-on-drugs, a deception perpetrated by those government personnel who are directly involved in the CIA drug trafficking and indirectly involved through such acts as cover-ups and obstruction of justice. Making possible the paramilitary arrogant invasion of people's homes and churches, often resulting in the deaths of innocent people. Again on such phony excuses as the "war-on-drugs." Making possible the widespread seizure and forfeiture of people's assets, sometimes of innocent people, and often seizing assets that have a value far beyond the nature of any alleged offense. Making possible the judicial and Justice Department corruption in the nation's Chapter 11 courts, where people exercising the statutory protection of Chapter 11 are criminally stripped of their life's assets by corrupt federal judges, judge-appointed trustees and the all-too-willing law firms and attorneys. Making possible the conversion of neighborhoods into drug-related battle zones, the drug-related killing of thousands of people in the United States, the spreading of fear throughout the United States, the spreading of a culture of arrogance and contempt for the rights of others. In turn, the American people suffered the loss of 58,000 Americans in Korea, 38,000 deaths in Korea, hundreds of thousands of injuries including loss of limbs, arising from the lying by White House politicians, continuation of the lying and resulting deaths in the President George Bush II administration. Pattern of torture, such as the torture and murder of an estimated 40,000 people in Vietnam in the Phoenix program; the torture in Iraq. Seizure of people throughout the world in the "rendition" program and taking them to countries where torture is routine. And much more. The Misguided "Patriots" Assisting the harm suffered by countless Americans, aiding and abetting the corruption, lying, and fraud, are: Those who know of the corruption in government and are too lazy, cowardly, to exercise their responsibilities. The flag-wavers, who consider themselves as patriots and fulfilling their obligations, by displaying the American flag. Simultaneously, they remain illiterate about government corruption, or support those responsible for the corruption. The so-called "patriots" who displays many of these same characteristics but believe they are being patriotic by complaining about government conduct, but avoiding the hardcore corruption issues that takes courage and a little intelligence, and instead, complain of such vague issues as: Arguing that the income tax is unconstitutional. Arguing that such license requirements as drivers' licenses are unconstitutional. Returning the country to the constitution. (Although this is an issue with merit, limiting activities to this argument is like charging "Murder Incorporated" with parking violations while ignoring the far worse offenses.) Claiming ludicrous conspiracy theories that diverts attention from the courageous insiders who risk everything by trying to report hardcore corruption in government offices to a pathetically indifferent public. Complaining and protesting about such matters as salaries paid to employees in distant countries that are beyond their knowledge or responsibility, while ignoring grave problems in the United States. Protesting much-needed construction projects on the basis that a specie of insect (surely including cockroaches!) will be endangered. America's Pontius Pilates With similarities to Pontius Pilate and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, most Americans wash their hands of the tragic consequences of their inactions in the face of evidence of unprecedented misconduct, corruption and even criminal activities by judges and other government personnel. They remain silent as thousands of innocent men and women are imprisoned on sham charges, exaggerated charges, or prison sentences far beyond the nature of the offenses (legislated by members of Congress who are in most cases guilty of far worse offenses with national implications). They remain silent as paramilitary forces break down doors in the middle of the night and terrorize families, and sometimes kill the occupants, often on the fraudulent claim of government informants, and often on totally innocent people. Like Pontius Pilate, they wash their hands of the human tragedies, the corruption of government offices, by remaining ignorant of the evidence, by refusing to recognize the evidence, and engaging in cowardice, indifference, and actually supportive of the corruption. Americans, including the Christians and the church leaders, claim their righteousness, their idealism, when in fact they aid and abet those who commit these human rights atrocities upon countless numbers of human beings. They go to church, they pray, they give money to the church and to charities, while supporting the people and the conduct that gives credence to the Ugly American title. Too Indifferent to Care For years former government aviation safety agents had appeared on radio and television shows describing the culture and corruption within the government's aviation safety offices that continued to block implementation of know corrective measures to prevent certain types of airline disasters. Members of Congress have periodically lambasted the tombstone mentality of FAA management, as have media people. Former FAA safety inspector-investigator Rodney Stich was so concerned about the continuing deaths in airline disasters arising from the culture and the blatant corruption that he discovered during his official duties that he spent the remainder of his life attempting to circumvent the blocks to addressing these matters, trying to inform the public and motivate people to show some sign of outrage and help. Stich appeared as guest and expert on over 3,000 radio and television shows trying to motivate the public. He received many appreciative letters, but no one offered to help. Even the next of kin showed no concern, preferring to spend time with lawyers to obtain the maximum amount of money from the loss of family members. While this is understandable, not a single next-of-kin showed any concern to correct the deadly problems or to prevent others from happening due to these problems. Stich appeared once on a radio show in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where there was a gravesiteconcerning the remains of a mother and her two daughters who perished in a text-book case of how specific corruption by specific people resulted in that crash and the 43 people cremated alive in it, which occurred at Salt Lake City. Stich described the massive corruption surrounding that United Airlines disaster. But not a single person even called in for more information. In the United Airlines crash into New York City that happened on the program for which Stich had the sole hands-on safety responsibilities as an FAA inspector, Stich discovered the corruption related to that crash. A little boy was the only survivor of that great air disaster, but he lived only for a couple of days. The father of that boy knew of the corruption and offered no help. Undoubtedly, some of the people who perished from the 9/11 hijackings had heard Stich during some of his many radio appearances. It is ironic that their failure to show an interest and provide help would continue the conditions that led to their deaths. Even the group of family members that formed after the 9/11 hijackings, National Air Disaster Alliance, showed no interest in the information and hard evidence that Stich had of the corruption that led to many prior airline disasters, that undoubtedly played major roles in the 9/11 hijackings, and would result in a continuation of what had been occurring for the past 40 years (although the crashes are far less frequent, but some still occur due to the deep-seated culture still existing in certain offices of the FAA). Even letters to the president of the group, Gail Dunham, resulted in no reaction. This group spends month praising some of the very people responsible for the conditions that led to and made possible the 9/11 hijackings and deaths. How naive―or stupid―can a group get! Is it any wonder that the United States, today, is in the precarious position that it is in. But even here, the see, hear, and do nothing culture persists, unaware of the catastrophic consequences from their indifference that lies ahead! Supreme Court Justices Targeting Whistleblowers A recent 5-4 decision (May 30, 2006) by the Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court has removed all protections from government employees who expose corruption in government offices. Garcetti v. Ceballos (No. 04-473). That decision means that if any government employee was to report criminal activities, even subversive activities in government offices involving government officials (as described in the list of books of such activities), the people perpetrating the crimes can retaliate against the government agent and the Justices of the Supreme Court decided the employee suffering the retaliation has no legal redress. That decision has grave consequences for the public and government institutions. Threatens Any Government Employee Who Exposes Criminal Activities in Government, and Encourages Criminal Activities and Retaliation Against Any Government Employee who exposes Such Crimes Expose Corruption in Government, Suffer Retaliation, Lose Constitutional Protection Ruling that whistleblowers--government employees reporting corrupt or criminal activities in government can be retaliated against by their superiors--often the ones guilty of the misconduct. This decision was stated in Garcetti vs. Ceballos (May 30, 2006, S.C. # 04-473) In that 5 to 4 decision, it took only one justice to strip a person exposing corruption in government office of constitutional protection. Ceballos was a prosecutor in the Los Angeles County and wrote a memo (as required by his position) stating that a county sheriff deputy lied in a search warrant affidavit. In retaliation for reporting what he was required to report, Ceballos was demoted and denied a promotion. In stripping those Ceballos and any other government employee whose legally-required report exposes misconduct in government) Justice Anthony Kennedy and four other justices stated: We reject the notion that the First Amendment shields from discipline the expressions employees make pursuant to their professional duties. Supervisors must ensure that their employee' official communications ... promote the employer's mission. But Ceballos was not expressing an opinion, or acting as a whistleblower; he was including in his report−as required of his position−the corrupt act of a county sheriff deputy. An editorial in the Las Vegas Sun (June 1, 2006) stated: The ruling was seen as the clearest sign yet of the Supreme Court's political shift toward statism−a willingness to defer to the convenience and prerogatives of those who run government agencies−following the retirement of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and the arrival of Samuel Alito. A year ago, Justice O'Connor authored a 5-4 decision that encouraged whistle-blowers to report sex discrimination in schools. But on Tuesday, her replacement joined in the slim majority. Parrot the party line, or get busted back to proverbial foot patrol? So the "mission" of the Los Angeles County prosecutor's office is to present a uniform and reassuring face to the public--not to investigate possible police misconduct? Critics predict the ruling in Garcetti v. Ceballos could have a sweeping impact for the nation's 20 million government employees, silencing police officers who fear retribution for reporting department corruption. Of course a thorough probe into charges of official malfeasance [or criminal!] will tend to be "inflammatory"−and to inflame public outrage and demands for reform. That's Bad? Self-Serving Reason Behind That Supreme Court Justices' Decision? To fully understand the significance of that decision, and how a prior decision by Anthony Kennedy, contributed to the retaliation against a whistleblower, with ripple effects making possible the events of 9/11−and other tragedies, the book, Defrauding America must be read. However, the following are highlights: In the late 1980s, while Justice Kennedy was a federal court of appeal judge in San Francisco, former federal agent filed a petition with Anthony Kennedy, after he was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court but still serving as a federal court of appeal judge. That petition raised matters of grave importance for the United States, with ripple effects far beyond what a superficial examination shows. It even had ripples that made 9/11 possible (this is not hyperbole!). The petition stated, for instance: That former federal agent Rodney Stich sought to report corrupt and criminal activities in government offices and covert government operations that he and a group of other former government agents had discovered during their professional and official duties with the federal government. These included the corrupt culture in the government's aviation safety offices that had, among other responsibilities, preventing hijackings; and the corrupt culture in the FBI and CIA--the agencies responsible for matters affecting national securi5ty, such as the actions of terrorists. That the reports were attempted to be made to federal judges under the requirements of the federal crime reporting statute, Title 18 U.S.C. § 4, and that federal judges had blocked the reports. That federal judges had a mandatory duty to receive reports of federal crimes under their administrative duties rather than their judicial duties, and that they had obstructed justice by refusing to receive the reports. That serious harm had already resulted, including deaths, and would continue to occur, from the criminal acts that the former agents had sought to report−and from the obstruction of justice arising from the misconduct of the federal judges. That federal judges (Milton Schwartz and Marilyn Petal at that time) had issued unlawful and unconstitutional orders barring former federal agent Rodney Stich from filing any papers in any federal court for the remainder of his life. That these orders knowingly blocked Stich from reporting criminal activities that he and a group of former government agents had discovered in government offices and government operations, and (b) prevented Stich from exercising federal defenses against the parallel massive civil rights violations that were inflicting great personal and financial harm upon the former federal agent. That after Stich sought to report additional criminal activities that he and his group of former federal agents had discovered, that federal judges and Department of Justice prosecutors had charged him with criminal contempt of court for having filed papers in the federal courts attempting to report the criminal activities. That petitioner Rodney Stich, at the age of 67, had been sentenced to six months in federal prison on a criminal contempt of court charge for attempting to report corrupt and criminal activities in several government agencies (FAA, NTSB, FBI, and CIA). The most notable−if the facts are analyzed and the ripple effects understood−would include the conditions that constituted the primary areas of blame for the successful hijackings of four airliners on 9/11; and the secondary area of blame for the poor intelligence and failure to act on known intelligence. The petition sought to obtain a stay of the prison sentence; a hearing to return to him the civil and constitutional rights and defenses taken from him by the unlawful orders; an opportunity to present to him, or any other federal judge, under the mandatory crime reporting statute, information and evidence of corrupt and criminal activities. Judge Kennedy denied each of these requests. Eighteen years later, he wrote the Supreme Court decision that further showed his protection of corrupt and criminal activities in government offices with the Ceballos decision. Several years later, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote the decision that supported his refusal to provide relief to Stich. If Kennedy had acted in accordance with law and the Constitution, the criminal activities that Stich sought to report would have been addressed, and it is doubtful that the conditions would have continued to where four groups of terrorists were able to easily hijack four airliners on 9/11. American Public's Historic Indifference The history of the American public's indifference to lying politicians, corruption in government, and resulting tragedies, leaves no hope that the present record-setting corruption will be addressed. Let's look at the history: U.S. invasion of Korea on the basis of lying, and also the civil conflict between North and South Carolina, a division that the United States politicians caused to occur, resulted in 38,000 deaths and over 100,000 maimed and injured U.S. military personnel (plus over 100,000 Koreans. U.S. invasion of Vietnam on the basis of lying, that North Vietnamese gunboats attached U.S. destroyers. Not only was that a lie, but even if such attach had occurred, it would not have threatened the United States and support the costly invasion of a far away country. This political deception resulted in 58,000 dead U.S. GIs and over 200,000 maimed and injured (plus 60,000 murdered Vietnam under the Phoenix program and over 200,000 civilians and others). October Surprise, where people undermined U.S. government by paying money to Iranians and furnishing Iran with huge quantities of military equipment stolen from national guard armories and elsewhere, to delay the release of the American hostages under after the election between President Carter and Presidential candidate Ronald Reagan. The U.S. undermining of the government of Nicaragua by furnishing money and arms to rebels, and dealing in drugs, many of which were brought back to the United States by the mercenaries flying military equipment from the United States to the Nicaragua rebels seeking to overthrow the government. CIA funding and orchestrating the overthrow of the Iranian government in 1953. Secret funding and arming of Iraq during the Reagan-Bush administrations, which enabled Iraq to invade Kuwait, starting the Gulf War. Indifference to the five-hour-long attack by Israel upon the U.S.S. Liberty, which killed and maimed dozens of navy personnel. Massive corruption in the federal bankruptcy courts that strips innocent people of their life assets who naively exercise the statutory protections of Chapter 11, seeking a delay in the payment of major indebtedness that had suddenly come due. Decades of drug trafficking into the United States by people associated with the Central Intelligence Agency, which required assistance of other government entities. Decades of corruption by members of Congress, in full view of the public, demanding bribes either outright or implied, lobbyists bribing member of congress with various forms of bribes. FBI agents involved in murders, with particular attention to those in the Boston and New York area, the murders continuing for years with the knowledge of FBI and Justice Department top people in Washington. The practice of seizing assets that are never returned from Americans, who are either never charged or are found innocent. The exorbitant length of prison for minor offenses, legislated by members of Congress, whose crimes are often far greater than people sentenced to prison. Assassinations, and planned assassinations, of foreign leaders and foreign personnel by U.S. forces, including the CIA. The planned and initiated invasion of Cuba, a country that had not committed any offense against the United States. Invasion of Iraq on the basis of lies, where even if the lies were true, the country posed no threat to the United States. America's Deadly Toll On People of Other Nations The reported brutal deaths of 500,000-plus Iraqi men, women, children, and even infants, caused directly and indirectly by the actions of Americans, has yet to cause most Americans to feel shame for what they have inflicted upon others. The brutality of the deaths, and the horrible maiming, is difficult to put into proper words. The bodies of babies and children ripped apart, their body parts hanging from ceiling fans and other places, can't be shown on U.S. television for fear of offending the Americans who made these atrocities possible. Then there are the deaths, and the maiming, of thousands of American GIs, pawns in the massive lying and support of the lying by segments of Americans (who profess concern for the GIs that are being sent to die). Who are these Americans that made these atrocities possible? A partial list: The swaggering president of the United States, George Bush, with his history of failures, but protected from the consequences by powerful financial and political ties and either a timid or outright lying media group. Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, and other members of the president's staff, who engaged in the pattern of serial lying, knowing that compliant media personnel would cover for the lies and most of the public too gullible to know the difference. Members of Congress, who jumped to their feet and clapped with every sentence uttered by President Bush during the state of the union speech when Bush proposed starting a war by invading Iraq. These are the same sordid leaders who covered up for the decades of corruption in the government's aviation safety offices (that made the 9/11 hijackings possible) and covered up for the decades of corruption in the FBI and CIA (that made possible the failure to act to stop that terrorist scheme). Media people who copy the lying by Bush and his staff that preceded the invasion of Iraq, and afterwards, such as New York Time's Judith Miller, Russ Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and others. And the others who continue the lying to this date to cover up for the deadly pattern of lying in which they are implicated. Americans who voted for President Bush before, and after the invasion of Iraq; who approved the invasion and killings until it started affecting their own well being. Those who justified the sufferings that they enabled to be inflicted upon Iraqis on the basis that (a) Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (ludicrous in many ways); (b) U.S. politicians preferred another leader in Iraq; (c) forcing a different form of government (democracy) upon an area of different tribes, religious groups, that have had a history of sectarian violence. the arrogance and ignorance of forcing a democracy upon such diverse groups is made worse by the fact that most Americans are blissfully ignorant of the human rights outrages being inflicted upon Americans by their own "leaders." On top of this, most of these people are blissfully pleased with the facts that their leaders have: Repeatedly lied to them, assuming they were too stupid to know the difference, and too cowardly to show any outrage at being duped. Have made the American people hated throughout the world. Have converted Iraq from a formerly relatively stable country (for the Middle East) into a terrorist breeding ground wanting to kill Americans. Laid the groundwork for events that will inflict great harm upon Americans and the United States, including the entire Middle East erupting in civil wars, including the already civil war in Iraq, and the pending civil war in Lebanon and Palestinian territories. Subsequent retaliation upon Americans is yet to be felt from such attacks as the detonation of the stolen nuclear suitcase bombs in U.S. cities, shooting down of U.S. aircraft through the world, including in the United States, and other forms of attacks that the United States can't stop. Massive financial problems in the United States, something like the 1930 depression, but this time with massive rioting. And how does the average American view the horrendous human suffering that they have brought upon the victims? For instance: Most continue to support the liars, the deadly lying, the continued infliction of death. Most continue their indifference by indulging in juvenile pacifiers, luxuries, too lazy to spend the time learning the truth and too cowardly to show the required outrage. Making matters worse, the same group of leaders who engaged in a literal Trojan horse corruption of the United States, and its tens of thousands of victims, are unknown except for the victims themselves, and those who cover up for these human right outrages. The horror inflicted upon Iraq, and the lying by U.S. politicians and military leaders, is only the latest in a long series. Much of the U.S. public supported the lying and killing of people of other countries for the past fifty years. Remember, for instance: The lying and invasion of Korea. Over a million Koreans killed, 38,000 American GIs killed, and tens of thousands maimed and injured. The lying and invasion of Vietnam. Over two million Vietnamese killed; an estimated 40,000 Vietnamese murdered in the CIA's Phoenix Program; 58,000 American GIs killed, and tens of thousands maimed and injured. The lying and support of rebels overthrowing the government of Nicaragua. The long history of subverting foreign governments, such as the CIA's role in overthrowing the head of Iran in 1953, with its blowback in the 1979 Iranian revolution and October Surprise. The attempted invasion of Cuba by the United States. Further tragedies are in the form of those foolish enough to try to reveal to the naive American public the corruption throughout government that continues to inflict great harm upon the country and upon its people. Many of these foolish patriots have written books seeking to inform the public, or have spoken out, and suffered the tragic consequences for trying to defend the country while the public continued to dabble in self-denial. Wholesale Killings Indirectly Caused by America's Drug Users In 2008, Mexico was averaging about 6,000 murders a year among Mexican bent on responding to the demands of America's drug users. Despite knowing that the money they pay for illegal drugs is making possible those murders−plus many more in the United States−they blissfully and without any concern continue to fund these deadly operations. Right in style with the worsening culture in the United States. Pathetic Parallel of Person Setting Himself on Fire To Protest What Most Americans Support On November 3, 2006, Chicago resident Malachi Ritscher stood by an off ramp in downtown Chicago, poured gasoline upon himself and lit it. The flaming pyre was visible to thousands, as he slowly writhed in pain and died. Prior to this self-sacrifice to protest what most Americans supported, he had prepared a written statement to Americans: Here is the statement I want to make: If I am required to pay for your barbaric war, I choose not to live in your world. I refuse to finance the mass murder of innocent civilians, who did nothing to threaten our country. If one death can atone for anything, in any small way, to say to the world: I apologize for what we have done to you, I am ashamed for the mayhem and turmoil caused by my country. Without fear I go now to God. Your future is what you will choose today. Ritscher failed to realize that the average America wouldn't be affected by his immolation. If it did not affect any of their mundane activities such as their fixation on ball games (the stuff of little children), or their fixation on what they call music being piped into their ears, or other similar "more-important" interests, the killings of Iraqis, or the self-sacrifice of a concerned American, certainly wasn't going to make any changes! Ritscher had even set up a video camera to film his immolation. The following is a picture of Ritscher and one in which he is protesting the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the killing of Iraqis. America's cowards, uninformed, and indifferent to tragedy-related corruption. U.S. media personnel, perhaps ashamed of their role in the bloody consequences in Iraq, said nothing about this story. It wasn't until a reporter for the alternative weekly, the Chicago Reader, published the story. Two weeks later, it appeared in an Associated Press article, ignored by more newspapers and television pundits. In the book, Defrauding America, is the story of a mother who died in a similar immolation in Napa, California. She wanted to generate public interest in the corruption in the bankruptcy courts involving federal judges, federal trustees, lawyers and law firms (as described in Defrauding America). No newspaper ran the story, thereby enabling the corruption to continued. A public that tolerates these outrages deserves what they get. Sampling of Books Proving The Systemic Corruption in the United States All of the books are available at amazon.com, in print and on the Kindle, and at many other Internet sites. They bring together the various pieces of the puzzle to better understand the overall picture, and why the same conditions continue year after year. As a result of the widespread corruption in overt and covert government operations, the systemic cover-ups that treat high-level corruption as the "third-rail," and the retaliation against whistleblowers, great American tragedies have repeatedly occurred, and will continue to occur. Harm to the American public in non-violent areas. Harm to people of other countries. Harm to the few people in the United States fighting the high-level corruption in a meaningful manner. Harm in general. Sampling of Early Consequences Progression of Consequences These few examples of the horrors associated with airline disasters enabled to occur by documented corruption withheld from the American people. The standard culture of cover-ups in the United States enabled the corruption, cover-ups, to mutate into different areas. In the aviation area, although the continuing series of airline disasters eventually came to a halt for other reasons, the culture continued, and enabled to occur a number of easily preventable airline disasters. The inbred culture created the conditions that enabled four groups of terrorists to easily hijack four airliners within a few hours of each other and kill nearly 3,000 people. One of Over 200 Victims Choosing This Way to Die— Made Possible by Many Enablers in United States Victims of Less Catastrophic Events There were many other forms of victims from the systemic high-level corruption. These included for instance victims of the: Department of Justice prosecutorial misconduct, people being falsely charges with crimes in order to improve the prosecutors' career. The explosion of violent crime related to drug smuggling into the United States, in which CIA assets were major players. Series of financial frauds appearing every few years, with the latest housing and financial implosions surfacing in 2008. Seizure of assets from innocent people. These offenses are described in the books written by insiders. Harm to People Overseas From High-Level Corruption in the United States In addition to the decades of harm resulting from the systemic corruption of key people and groups in the U.S. government, affecting aviation safety, financial, human rights, in the United States, there is the harm from outside sources brought about by the actions of U.S. politicians affecting people in other countries—such as the history of invading and killing foreigners—there are the successful "terrorist" attacks made possible by high-level corruption, and then there are the foreigners who are also victims from the same high-level corruption that adversely affects the American, but in a different form. Remains of a girl—about the age of the 9-year-old Killed in Tucson in January 2011. In criminal law, people are accomplices, and guilty, if they know of a criminal act and fail to report it to proper authorities and also to take efforts within their capability to halt their continuation. And there are endless numbers of accomplices that are complicit in these crimes and enablers of the consequences. Suggestion to people outside the United States. Become familiar with the documented systemic corruption in the United States and show the outrage lacking of people in the United States, and: Help expose the endemic corruption that seem to be acceptable to the American people, and maybe wake them up. Help to protect yourselves against the decades of ham inflicted upon people of other countries by the actions of U.S. politicians—supported by much of the American public. Examples: Serial lying by U.S. politicians to use as a pretense to invade Iraq and Afghanistan, killing tens of thousands of innocent people. U.S. politicians shifting enabling blame from their own corrupt actions that encouraged and enabled four groups of terrorists to simultaneously hijack four airliners, and shift the blame to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan—with the help of a dumbed-down American public that is mostly too lazy to learn the truth.
